There is a deluge of ideas and insights and initiatives swirling around like a tornado in your mind. When you wake up, you are thinking about them. When you eat lunch (if you remember) you are mulling over them.
Rather than getting much needed sleep, you are puzzling over them, rolling them around again and again, peering at each “To Do ASAP” from the right and the left and the upside down and the inside out, staring at each unblinking and in rapid fire over and over again.
This business and life that you are so sweetly passionate and excited about is unceremoniously stomping all over the ease you know is possible.
It’s a small feeling. This is NOT why you set out to launch this kind of business. But now this nagging unease and irritation is showing up in whispers (and sometimes louder than a whisper) not only at work but also at dinner and pick up and helping with homework.
Four steps into making some progress you decide to “do a quick Google search” and suddenly you’re knee deep in “HOLY HANNAH MY COMPETITORS ARE EVERYWHERE WHAT WAS I THINKING GETTING INTO THIS LINE OF WORK I NEED TO RETHINK EVERYTHING I NEED TO DO MORE LIVES/UPDATE MY INSTAGRAM/GO TO A CONFERENCE/START A CONFERENCE/PARTNER WITH OPRAH/CLARIFY/QUIT/DOUBLE MY EFFORTS/watch this wee Ellen clip and regroup…”
And then start all over again 42 minutes later.
But all of this is NOT a sign that you are in the wrong line of work.
This overwhelm does not mean that you aren’t passionate enough. It also does not mean that there is some sort of gross misalignment between you and your business.
All this means is that while you are keenly capable of putting what only YOU can out into the world, the “building the momentum of your business” side of things hasn’t been set in place… yet.
And once that is sorted… click!
That is the part that scoops up that Mount Everest of initiatives balancing precariously on your shoulders and sets them over THERE so you can end your day snuggled into your duvet and drift off into sweet, uninterrupted slumber over HERE.
You deserve to feel excited about your day and not drained and harassed by it!
I mean, Ellen clips are THE BOMB… but so is leading your business rather than feeling like your business is leading you 😉
If you want to talk about it, just know that I REALLY get it.
And I’m happy to share strategies I’ve used to help other business owners finally catch their breath without compromising their sanity, profit or integrity.
I have opened up a handful of spots in my calendar to make it easier to book a time to chat (I am pretty sure your schedule is insane).
Looking forward to talking with you,
